Measure LL

On May 31, the Vista Unified School District Board of Trustees voted to place Measure LL on the November 2018 ballot to: 

  • Provide classrooms and labs for education 

  • Provide the facilities needed to support instruction in math, science, and technology

  • Upgrade classrooms, libraries, and science labs

  • Repair or replace deteriorating roofs, plumbing, sewer lines and electrical systems

  • Create flexible, multi-use classrooms

  • Improve heating, ventilation, insulation, doors, and windows to increase energy efficiency

In November 2018, voters in the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) demonstrated their support for students by passing Measure LL, which will generate up to $247 million for school improvements, upgrades, and infrastructure.The measure passed by more than 62% of voters. In order to pass, the measure needed 55% of voters.

The bond measure will cost property owners about 3 cents for each $100 of assessed value of their property, or about $108 per year for the typical home owner.

The Board is required per Proposition 39 rules and regulation in Education Code 15278 to form and create a Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC)
