Dr. Linda Kimble has been the superintendent of Vista Unified School district since January 2018. She has literally written the books on being a superintendent and a principal as the author of two books, The Principal’s Guide and The Savvy Superintendent. Her passion is the education of young people and ensuring every student has access to music and the arts. She is a frequent guest speaker on the issues music education and students living in poverty.

Dr. Kimble began her career as a bilingual and migrant education teacher in the Palmdale School District. She worked her way up the ranks of the educational system by serving as Chief Executive for Keppel Union School District and Acton-Agua Dulce Unified, both in northern Los Angeles County. She has served as superintendent for Monrovia Unified School District and Anaheim Elementary School District 

Dr. Kimble the Past President of the ACSA Superintendents’ Association, Region 15 South and Past Board Member of School Employers Association of California.  She has been recognized as a Woman of Distinction for the 65th Assembly District; Superintendent of the Year for ACSA Region 15; and Outstanding Administrator for the Los Angeles County Bilingual Directors Association.

Dr. Kimble earned her Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Doctor of Education in Educational Management from the University of La Verne.
