Committee Purpose
The District Asset Management Advisory Committee was established to explore and make recommendations on options for District owned real property in support of the development of the Vista Unified School District Long-Range Facility Master Plan.
Authority: Recommendations to the Board of Education regarding school consolidation and property (assess) management.
Establishment: At the regular Board of Trustees meeting on January 19, 2023, direction and authority were granted to the Superintendent and designee, the Chief Operations Officer, to form the District Asset Management Advisory Committee.
Council Focus for 2022-2023: Final direction will come from the Board of Education at the date and time of the initial appointment of members and the adoption of the bylaws of the committee. At the February 8, 2023 Board Workshop the Board directed the Superintendent to create a matrix of data for each elementary and middle school in the District to be used by the Asset Management Committee using the following criteria:

Age of facility

Comprehensive condition of facility

Enrollment and logistics, including proximity to school

Site suitability for facility improvements

Equity considerations related to Board Policy No. 0415 Equity
Brown Act Requirements: The Committee is subject to all Brown Act Requirements
