Each school in Vista Unified will set their own schedule as to when they will test their students. However, the test will be administered sometime during the months of February, March, April, and May.
 ELPAC
Planning for the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) is already underway at Vista Unified. ELPAC has two types of assessments; ELPAC Initial and ELPAC Summative. Preparation for both has begun in earnest.

ELPAC Initial
Although there are behind the scenes adaptations and adjustments to the COVID-19 environment, the test will look and be administered in much the same as past years. If you have a potential student for the ELPAC Initial, your family will be contacted to schedule assessment. If you have not been contacted by mid-September, please contact your school principal.

ELPAC Summative
The planning for the ELPAC Summative is more complex. For some of our students eligible for ELPAC testing the assessment began in the Spring of 2020. For others there may be make-up assessment in the fall of 2020. If your English Learner student is eligible for make-up assessment (for the 2019-2020 school year), your family will be contacted by our English Language Development department.

ELPAC Summative will resume as normal for all English Learner students in the Spring of 2021.
