P-3 Continuum

Purpose: The P-3 Focus Group is a representative group of school leaders, district leaders, preschool partners, community partners and county early education leaders that guides VUSD's P-3 journey.

 

Focus: Areas of focus for the year include TK Expansion and building a continuum of developmentally appropriate pedagogy and leadership. 

Charge: The vision for P-3 is to improve the quality and coherence of children’s learning opportunities, from birth, through the experiences children have in early learning (including PreK, Head Start, child care, and other early learning opportunities before — or “pre” — formal entry into school) and extending through elementary school.  P-3 signifies both an age range and a lens for thinking about organization and system level change.
