Virtual School Information

The Vista Virtual School is specifically designed to provide students ongoing learning opportunities and access to the resources necessary to support their educational, social-emotional, nutritional, and health and safety needs.

At the middle school level, students will have virtual learning experiences for each of the courses on their schedules through  Google Classroom, websites, videos, email, and other virtual tools.  Students will engage in a variety of assignments, instruction, collaboration, projects, and learning tasks for each of their courses with weekly schedules posted on each school's website. Teachers will provide daily communication and timely feedback, and students will have the opportunity to ask questions and get extra help through email, Google Classroom, and other virtual tools.

English Language Development

The English Language Development (ELD) Department is committed to the academic and linguistic progress of our English Language Learners (ELLs). Our goal is to support our teachers so they can provide resources and strategies for all English Language Learners to access academic content and advance their language and grade level proficiencies in the Vista Virtual School.

The ELD Department has collaborated in the development of the virtual lessons in Google Classroom and the instructional plan to guarantee that our ELLs are equipped with the tools needed for learning. Special Education

Vista Virtual School (VVS) includes embedded supports to ensure that students with special education needs have, to the maximum extent possible, equitable access and comparable learning opportunities. While it is not possible to implement all components of your student’s IEP during school closure, your student's special education teacher/case manager and related service providers remain committed to supporting you and your student(s) within the VVS learning platform. These supports will be outlined for you in what is called your student's "Distance Learning Plan". This plan provides you and your IEP team the flexibility necessary to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of your student(s) and your family during these uncertain times.
