The purpose of this update is to inform the community of the actions that were taken by the Board at the August 6, 2020 Special School Board meeting.

Instructional Support for Students and Staff

● Review evidence-based research for addressing learning loss - diagnostics to assess
learning loss

● Address staff mindset regarding learning loss and need for accelerating learning

Social Emotional Support for Students and Staff

● Supports outside of school hours, as well as within school hours

Technology and Nutrition

● Hot Spots for multiple students in household

● Wifi Boosters to assist families with multiple students versus additional hotspots

Engagement and Attendance

● Continuation of Community Updates to provide information to our families

Learning Loss Overall Budget Categories

● Hire roving crew of custodians to support room cleaning and disinfecting

● Additional fans/ventilation for rooms that don’t have windows or HVAC
