Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts

Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts was named an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme World School in May, 2017. Our mission is to inspire every student to be a confident global citizen and critical thinker through a rigorous, arts-integrated and innovative academic community. As one of only two schools in California to receive highest honors, Vista Academy was awarded the California Gold Ribbon, Title I Academic Achievement and Exemplary Arts Program awards in 2016.

With a focus on developing internationally-minded individuals, students are encouraged to take action in an ever-changing world. In addition to an inquiry-based academic program, all students participate, weekly, in Music, Dance, Drama, and STEAM labs taught by fully credentialed specialists. Weekly Spanish classes enhance the program for our first through fifth grade students. After school conservatory offerings provide students with more in-depth study in a variety of areas including dance, theatre, art, and sound technology. “Our goal at Vista Academy is to develop the emotional, intellectual, and artistic potential in every child,” Principal Benjie Walker said.

As a Magnet school, applications are accepted during the months of January and February for the following school year. Vista Academy has about 600 elementary students and 34 teachers. Please visit vistaavpa.com or call our school office for a tour.
