Mission Meadows opened in 1991 and is located in the quiet neighborhood of Jeffries Ranch in eastern Oceanside. Educators at Mission Meadows focus on the whole child by incorporating art, character education, technology, and physical education into daily Common Core lessons. There are also a variety of after-school activities focusing on art, music, science, and other subjects. These after-school activities include Kids’ College, band, soccer, chess, karate, visual arts, science and technology (STEM), and life-skills (Financial Literacy), etc.

The school has approximately 595 students and 29 teachers, in addition to a full-time community liaison,  psychologist, and counselor. Students at Mission Meadows have access to the latest curricular programs, as well as 21st century technology within the classroom. Mission Meadows is also 1:1 regarding technology devices at all grade levels. Computer labs are open to parents as well by appointment. Teachers at Mission Meadows are dedicated to innovation and implementing “Best First” teaching strategies in the classrooms including, providing a balanced literacy program. Teachers use both formative and summative data to make all instructional decisions in order to ensure that they reach all of their students. Students who are struggling receive additional support within the classroom and through Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies.

Parent participation is supported and encouraged at Mission Meadows. Parents can participate in the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC), as well as by volunteering in the classroom. The PTA and ELAC organizations support and sponsor many school-wide activities such as The Harvest Carnival, Ability Awareness Week, Kindness Challenge, Red Ribbon Week, Family Literacy Night, and Science Fair, etc. to benefit all students.

Mission Meadows is known as “The School with an Inclusive Heart” because of its reputation as an inclusive school where students learn, understand, and accept the differences in others, which makes Mission Meadows a great place to learn and grow! Go Mustangs!
