Educational Excellence

 

Educational Excellence provides the primary direction and guidance to all aspects of the Vista Unified School District educational programs including the following departments: Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, Student Services and Adult Education. The primary goal is to assist schools to deliver high quality instruction which inspires each and every student to persevere as critical thinking individuals who collaborate to solve real world problems and are College and Career ready through the implementation of the Common Core State Standards. Instructional Services works collaboratively with parents, teachers, support staff, school and the community to promote student learning in support of district goals.

Time:

8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Sign in/Check in between 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.

 

Who: All Grades TK through 12 Certificated Staff & Administrators (includes K-5 Special Education, Speech/Language, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses, and Counselors)

 

Check in: Grades TK-12 certificated staff will check in for the Professional Development Day in the Mission Vista High School gymnasium.  At time of check-in everyone will receive a schedule of the day customized to their work assignment.

 

Schedules will include high priority trainings such as ELLevation (an online tool for documenting reclassification), iReady ELA, and subject/grade level specific topics that support Board goals.

 

Parking:  Organize your carpool now; parking is limited!  Off-site parking will be available in the SOUTH parking lot of Home Depot; bus shuttle will be provided. Please DO NOT park in the surrounding neighborhood of MVHS.

 

Lunch: Please plan on bringing your own sack lunch, or purchase your lunch from an array of Gourmet Food Trucks that will be on campus during lunch.
