Bobier Elementary School

Bobier Elementary opened in early 1962 in central Vista. The mission of educators at the school is to provide students “with the highest quality education in a supportive, friendly environment by a dedicated, professional staff that values individual differences and inspires knowledgeable and creative thinkers.” The goal is to prepare students to live, work,  and thrive in a highly connected world. Students’ scores on state standardized tests have risen 78 points over the last five years. Anita Alfonso has been principal there since 2010.

Bobier has 654 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and 26 teachers. Educators at the school work to be a vital part of the community with various social activities and services for local families, including a full-time counselor, on-site assistance by the Vista Community Clinic and Mental Health Services, a parent room on campus, and English lessons for parents. There is also a full-inclusion special education program that has students with special needs taught in typical grade-level classes. The special education teachers there team teach with regular education teachers throughout the school day.
