Certificated Credentialing

Induction Program

Induction is designed to support the professional development of newly-credentialed, beginning teachers and fulfill the requirements for the California Clear Multiple and Single Subjects Credential. Induction programs are locally designed and implemented in accordance with the Standards for Quality and Effectiveness for Professional Teacher Induction Programs, and are accredited by the CCTC to recommend candidates for the Ryan or 2042 Clear MS or SS Credential. The District's Induction program has strong partnerships with local universities and takes pride in preparing teachers for their careers in teaching.

Secondary Credential or Authorization Program

A Secondary Credential or Authorization Program provides contracted VUSD teachers an opportunity to earn a secondary credential. The District supports the cost of a secondary methods course (if needed), subject matter examinations and study materials.

The District sponsors the Added Authorizations in Special Education Program. Teachers who are assigned work with students with specific disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury must hold specific authorizations. The District supports the cost of the course (provided by the District approved vendor) for teachers in these assignments

If you are interested in these opportunities, contact the Human Relations Department for more information.
